JCSUD will hold a General Election on Saturday, February 1, 2025, to elect three (3) Directors at large. Once elected, these Board Members will serve a three-year term. Board elections are nonpartisan, and members are elected to represent all ratepayers of JCSUD.
These elected board members are vital in guiding the District’s operations, including long-term planning, financial oversight, and policy development.

Who Can Vote?
Registered voters who reside within the JCSUD district boundary are eligible to vote in the Board Member election. Use the link to our Interactive Voter Map below to verify your address. If you are in the yellow-shaded area, you are within the district boundary and are eligible to vote.

When Can I Vote?
Registered voters who reside in the District can cast their ballot on Election Day, February 1, 2025, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. or during early voting:
- 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 15. 2025 – Friday, January 17, 2025
- 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 – Friday, January 24, 2025
- 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 – Tuesday, January 28, 2025
Where Can I Vote?
The polling locations for Early Voting and Election Day will be at the JCSUD office located at 740 FM 3048, Joshua, TX 76058.
Applications for ballot by mail may be submitted to the JCSUD office in person, by mail, or emailed to dcollier@jcsud.com.
Ballots by mail must be received no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Who are the Candidates?
The candidates for the 2025 election will appear on the ballot in the following order. Please see the brief bio for each candidate below.
Craig Cheyne
Craig lives on a farm near Grandview, was raised in Cleburne, and has lived in Johnson County for most of his life. He is a graduate of Baylor University with a BBA in Finance, earned his MBA from Dallas Baptist University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is married and the proud father of two children. In his spare time he enjoys riding his horses, hunting, fishing, gardening, and CrossFit. Agriculture is another one of his passions as he also also enjoys managing his commercial cow-calf operation on his family land and other leased land in Johnson County. He currently works as a Vice President/Branch Manager for AgTrust Farm Credit in Cleburne and is the President of the Board of Directors of Operation Blessing of Johnson County.
John Waldrip
John resides in Joshua. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University. John served as the chief of police for the city of Joshua for ten years and as both police chief and city manager of Joshua for two years. He currently works for the state. He is married and has two kids.
Ronnie Nichols
Ronnie Nichols was born and raised in Cleburne and currently resides in Godley. He has decades of experience in water system operations and system development, having worked for JCSUD for 40 years. Ronnie retired as the Operations Manager in 2018 and is the longest-tenured employee in the District’s history. He has served as a JCSUD Board Member since 2019. In his free time, he enjoys hunting.
Gene Petross
Gene resides in Cleburne and has been a JCSUD Board Member since 2001. He grew up on a farm and ranch, where he first gained his appreciation for water. He worked for John Deere for 17 years selling equipment and taught high school history and geography in Cleburne for 23 years. He is married with three grown children. His wife, Joyce, serves on the Cleburne Public Library board.
Mike Bowles
Mike resides in Alvarado and has served as a JCSUD Board Member for 18 years. He has an MBA in accounting from Texas A&M University and did postgraduate study in the field of income taxation at the University of North Texas. He is a Certified Public Accountant and owns his own tax accounting office in Cleburne. Mike is a member of the Cleburne Rotary Club, serving as the club treasurer for many years and on various committees to enhance the club’s programs and fundraising efforts. He is also on the board of directors for the Plaza Theatre, of which he was a founding member, and has been a member of Tuesday Forum for 20 years. He previously served on the board of directors for the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce, Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the Cleburne Rotary Club Foundation, and Rotary District 5790. He is married with two adult children and has six grandchildren. His daughter works in the missionary field and is currently in Thailand. His son served as a pastor for 10 years in New Mexico and now has a successful home inspection business in the DFW. Mike enjoys hunting, snow and water skiing, and traveling in his free time.
Gary Giesen
Gary resides in Godley and works full-time on his family’s farm and ranch, where they raise cattle and row crops. He has three children and enjoys spending time with them hunting and fishing. Gary previously served as a JCSUD Board Member from February 2021 to February 2024.
